Graffiti became a street art that many people admire. But in its beginnings everything was not so easy.
In El Viaje del Jaguar I am releasing a new interview section. We will meet many people who have an innate talent along with their curious life stories.
I was fortunate to be able to contact the artist Gabriel Mesek. He took me to know a little of his lifestyle. The first thing to know is that Gabriel wanted to remain anonymous when I did this interview.
He grew up in Italy and that led him to explore many things realized several illegal interventions in train wagons and walls with his style of lettering or typographic art. In Europe doing damage to a public good is sanctioned drastically. Fortunately for Gabriel many of his actions did not end at a police station.
Life in Colombia
Gabriel returned to Colombia with his family to begin practically a new life after a series of inconveniences with the migratory issue in Italy. He had to start from scratch even learning Spanish to put it 100% into practice. Mesek entered to study Graphic Design in Cali for a simple reason his desire to learn much more on the typographic sources which are his total source of inspiration for his street art.
